New Construction plus Exterior/Interior Renovation
The transformation of the house and yard into a stunning and architecturally significant Tudor home surrounded by eye-catching grounds, perfect for relaxing or entertaining, began with a five-phase project, undertaken simultaneously.
Construction of a Garage/Pool house with a Kitchenette, a full Bath, and Basement to house the pool mechanicals.
Installation of a custom Pool and Pool deck, along with extensive landscaping of the perimeter.
Complete renovation of the Basement, along with construction of a custom Wine room and Tasting room. The space features rustic brick work on the walls and floor, reclaimed wood on the ceiling, and a seating Nook.
Tear down of an existing 3-car Garage, replaced with a new masonry garage matching the existing house in exterior details.
A new 2nd floor above the garage that houses a spacious Exercise room and an All-purpose room, both featuring beamed tray ceilings mirroring the lines of the exterior.
Subsequent work included the following:
Renovation of the Dining room into a gorgeous space, with a custom arched doorway and woodwork.
Additional work on the Pool house to create a comfortable Living room/Sun room, featuring white oak paneled walls and a full masonry fireplace, along with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors for a sheltered outdoor living and entertaining area, as weather allows.
Historic Preservation - Complete Interior Renovation
This three-story historic residence, nestled along the shores of Lake Michigan, was completely renovated and expanded into a strikingly gorgeous home, while maintaining a consistent flow throughout and keeping true to the original architectural styling.
Painstaking work was done on portions of the exterior to match the historic significance of the property. Notably:
The entire clay tile roof was removed, the roof deck was re-sheeted, and the original clay tiles were reinstalled.
New windows and doors were custom-made to match the original early 20th century ones, but with today's energy-efficiency standards.
New stucco completes the entire exterior.
The entire interior was gutted and renovated to include:
Two new Master Bedrooms with Baths, a Study with custom bookcases, a Media room/Game room with vaulted ceilings featuring wood beams and tongue and groove bead board in the renovated attic space.
A custom wood Staircase to replace the existing one, and a new Elevator from the basement to the 3rd floor.
A new Master Bedroom Suite and an additional bedroom in the converted 2nd floor.
A new Kitchen, Dining room, Bathrooms (5), Library, Family room, Sun room, Bonus room, Foyer, and Garage--all with custom woodwork and restored plaster coffers.
